Thank you very much to Kathy Braidich of The Turban Project for visiting our library this afternoon!
The Turban Project began as a ministry by the women of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Assembly #0830 and provides free headwear for those who have lost their hair due to medical reasons. It now includes volunteers from all walks of life with satellite projects in every state and 14 international. Over 230,000 and counting blessed head wear and facemasks have been distributed. The Turbans are free of charge and give to oncology/ radiation centers and available on request.
It runs 100% by volunteers and donations.
How You Can Help:
-Be a volunteer. You can cut fabric, sew, embellish, get head wear ready to be mailed out, make patterns, etc.
-Donating decorative pins (butterflies, flowers, etc.), left over knit cotton, fleece or flannel fabric. (sport teams, Disney, cartoon characters, etc.)
-Donate via PayPal, credit card on our Facebook and Website.
